How the product data was collected

Under the Consumer Data Right rules, banking data holders publish their product data through a public API (the Get Products endpoint of the Consumer Data Standards): the product list and, for each product, its fees, eligibility rules, constraints, features and rates. The CDR register lists each data holder's public address. No login is needed and no customer data is involved.
The sample
On 2026-09-27 we requested the product list of each of the 116 brands in the register once. 96 answered and published 3,334 products. 20 could not be read that day (errors, refusals or timeouts): ANZ, ANZ Plus, Arab Bank Australia Limited, Aussie Home Loans, Australian Military Bank, BNK Bank (Goldfields Money/BCHL), Bank First, Bank of China, Border Bank, DDH Graham, Greater Bank, Judo Bank, MyState Bank, Police Bank, RSL Money, Regional Australia Bank, The Capricornian, Thriday, Tyro Payments, Unloan. The downloadable sample holds the 302 products whose lastUpdated date falls in the 7 days before the snapshot.
The lastUpdated date is set by each bank. 61 products from CommBank and Bankwest carried a time later than our request, which points to a time-zone or re-stamping quirk rather than a real update; the update counts leave them out. It shows that a product record changed, not which field changed, and banks set it in different ways: some update it for small edits. Knowing which clause changed needs two dated copies of the product, which is what daily collection provides.
What daily collection will store
- Every product list and the full details of every product, every day, compared field by field with the day before.
- A version for each change, with the date we first saw it.
